For more than a decade, artist, author, and inspirational speaker Tom Varano has traveled the country using live speed painting, music, storytelling, humor, and audience interaction to encourage young people to believe in themselves, overcome challenges, treat others with kindness, and recognize that their choices today help shape the person they become tomorrow.

A kindergartner doesn't see the world the same way an eighth grader does—and an eighth grader isn't facing the same challenges as a graduating senior.

That's why we don't believe in giving every student the exact same show.

Every Emotion Into Art™ performance is tailored to the age, maturity, and needs of the audience.

K–2: WONDER, KINDNESS & BELIEVING IN YOURSELF

For our youngest audiences, the experience is colorful, energetic, interactive, and fun. Familiar characters can come alive on canvas—from Marshall from PAW Patrol and Simba from The Lion King to Mirabel from Encanto—while Tom shares simple, memorable lessons about kindness, courage, listening, reading, friendship, helping others, and believing in yourself.

Students laugh, participate, answer questions, win prizes, and discover that learning important life lessons can be incredibly fun.

GRADES 3–6: DREAMING BIG & BUILDING CHARACTER

As students grow, so does the message.

Performances begin introducing powerful historical figures, cultural icons, athletes, entertainers, and leaders whose lives open the door to conversations about perseverance, leadership, respect, reading, goal setting, kindness, overcoming failure, and Dreaming B.I.G.

Students don't just learn what these individuals accomplished. They discover the struggles, choices, discipline, and perseverance behind their stories—and begin thinking about what might be possible in their own lives.

Our middle and high school programs address the realities young people face while challenging them to think about their choices, relationships, goals, habits, resilience, leadership, and future.

Through powerful stories and larger-than-life portraits, Tom creates conversations around overcoming adversity, anxiety and resilience, bullying, substance and vaping prevention, time management, goal setting, leadership, purpose, positive choices, and having the courage to keep moving forward when life doesn't go according to plan.

The goal isn't to preach at students.

One of the things that makes Emotion Into Art™ so unique is the ability to customize the artistic experience around your students and your message.

Tom's repertoire includes more than 80 famous faces and characters—from Abraham Lincoln, Rosa Parks, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., JFK, Mother Teresa and Albert Einstein to Michael Jordan, Michael Jackson, Dolly Parton, Robin Williams, Malala and many more.

That flexibility allows us to build performances around your school's themes, curriculum, character initiatives, celebrations, or district goals.

Most student programs feature three to four live 4' × 5' paintings, each created in approximately eight minutes and paired with powerful music and a story or message.

And when the performance ends, one original 4' × 5' painting is gifted back to the school as a lasting reminder of the experience.

Emotion Into Art™ isn't limited to one school or one assembly.

Through our District Block Booking Program, districts can bring performances to multiple buildings at a reduced per-performance rate—allowing elementary, middle, and high school students to experience programming created specifically for them.

Utica City School District previously hosted 28 Emotion Into Art™ performances and invited us back for another 25-performance district-wide tour. Middletown City School District hosted 19 performances across its schools.

Instead of impacting one building, districts can create a shared experience that reaches thousands of students and staff.
